G2 impresses with a 2-0 victory over Furia

G2 had an impressive debut with a new squad when confronting Furia - the team that was in recent form.

G2 started his IEM Cologne campaign with a 2-0 victory over Furia, closing the match with two Dust2 maps (13-11) and Inferno (August 13).
With this victory, G2 will enter the next round of the Branch of Thang to confront the winner in the match between Astralis and Vitality. Meanwhile, Furia will meet the losing team in the same match in the losing branch.
Furia faced many difficulties on the side of T on the map they chose - Dust2 - largely due to confrontation with a G2 that owns outstanding personal firepower. Mario "malbsmd" Samayoa, Nemanja "hunter-" Kovač and Matúš "matys" šimko have impressive Multi-kill situations, helping G2 to lead 9-3 easily.
However, G2 is not very smooth when switching to attack, with the active CT defense of Furia regularly gaining the initial advantage and effective network changes in bombite. Even so, G2 still found a way to end the map thanks to some messy but effective attacks.
Entering Inferno, G2 shows a different face on T side with many successfully breaking into the B bombite B - where Furia is constantly revealing loopholes. Malbsmd is a nightmare with entry kill, and although Mareks "yekindar" Gaļinskis enters the defense at B but cannot hinder the attack of G2, even when Furia has strengthened the defense here.
Furia tried to hold back the match with a few last round in CT and the end of T, but the two Round defeated- including a classic 1v5 clutch situation of Hunter-- made them fall into Match Point, and G2 did not miss the opportunity to end the match.
The successful debut of G2
G2 is absolutely worth the 2-0 victory, and they will definitely be satisfied with their performance against a Furia on the momentum.
Matys played effectively in both the role of holding a small site when defending and creating pressure in the border in attack, Hunter- had quality Calls on the T Inferno, and Malbsmd really excellent in situations that opened the network throughout the series.
