After many years of receiving requests from both players and teams, Riot Games and Webia have cooperated to launch the League of Legends Changers (LGC) first - League of Legends tournament (League of Legends) for the official female EMEA region.
In recent years, League of Legends for women is growing in Europe. Currently, there have been a number of women's tournaments held such as Coupe des étoiles as a tournament for French women's teams, while the EEC tournament is an extended tournament for European teams. In the near future, Riot Games will officially organize a tournament for women, named LGC.
Riot Games announced the organization of League of Legends for women
Younn "Saelind" Bouchard, Head of the tournament at Webia, shared: "After two tournaments of Coupe des étoiles, we are very happy to continue investing in diverse competitions with the first version of LOL Game Changers. Our main goal is to support the development of women by cooperating with existing tournaments, such as EQOL ESPORTS CUP (EEC), at the time To build this Changers game environment, we hope to develop in the coming years. "
According to the published information, the tournament will take place from August to October, the teams will play online with the final round at Paris Games Games Week on October 30. LGC tournament will welcome all women's teams, with 3 teams invited from LEC, 3 teams leading EEC and 2 teams from the qualifying round.
In terms of formula, LGC will consist of 8 teams divided into 2 pounds with single circle B01, the bottom team from each table is eliminated. The remaining 6 teams will enter the knockout round. The group stage took place on September 13–29. The Play -off round will play in the formula of the winning branch - the losing branch on October 10–15. The matches are all delineated by the Bo5. Although the tournament has not started, Sheep Esports has noticed a problem in the tournament rules. Specifically, Riot Games has confirmed that the tournament is only for women, which means "non -gender" players or transgender men will not be involved. However, the EEC tournament does not limit this and the teams participating in the EEC will attend LGC.
Currently, Riot Games has not made feedback on this issue.
